  7.     So how do you like the new print
  8. features?  Barbara is open to
  9. suggestions for improving the PUZZLE
  10. PAGE so let me know what you want and
  11. I'll pass the info on to her. If
  12. you've got an idea for a new kind of
  13. puzzle, you can have your name
  14. immortalized on LOADSTAR by simply
  15. writing the idea down on paper and
  16. sending it in.  No programming
  17. necessary.

  19.     Ed Fournier noticed that many
  20. English words form other words when
  21. read backwards, so he came up with TO
  22. AND FRO. Simple idea -- good puzzle.
  23.  
  24.     Ed has been published several
  25. times on LOADSTAR and each time asks
  26. to have his subscription extended as
  27. his payment. Of course we are happy to
  28. comply. As Managing Editor I'm more
  29. concerned with subscription numbers
  30. for LOADSTAR than with petty things
  31. like the amount of cash Softdisk has
  32. in the bank. I'm not one to tell you
  33. what to consider important, too, but a
  34. drop in subscriptions for LOADSTAR
  35. poses more of a threat to us than cash
  36. flow problems.

  38.     Let's all help out keeping
  39. LOADSTAR at the top of the Tower by
  40. spreading the word. Anyone who has a
  41. C-64 or C-128 should at least know
  42. about us.

  44.     I'm sorry I got off on self-
  45. serving tangent, but I'd like to think
  46. that we serve a purpose that no one
  47. else can fulfill. We can get you
  48. published! Try sending your puzzles,
  49. articles or programs to the New Yorker
  50. or Harpers and you'll soon know the
  51. meaning of the words "...not suitable
  52. for our needs at this time..."

  61. comes to mind -- music, slide show,
  62. simple quiz. HARD quiz. When you get
  63. the idea, plunk it all together in a
  64. C-64/128 format and send it to us. You
  65. too can be a published programmer!
